BIOGRAPHY

Norbert Elek started playing the piano in the age of 5.  He learned classical piano till 16 than started playing jazz in the Postás Music School at Tibor Márkus. In the age of 18 he went to Kőbányai Zenei Stúdió where his piano coach was János Fogarasi then he continued his studies on the Liszt Ferenc Music Academy, jazz composing and arranging class where his teacher was the internationally famous jazz pianist and composer Kálmán Oláh. He recieved his diploma in 2005.

Norbert has worked with numerous Hungarian pop and jazz entertainer (see @ discography) and played in plenty of bands in Hungary as a keyboard player (see @ bands). He also has international experience as he had the opportunity to work with RCCL, Ringling, and Voyage de la Vie at Resort World Sentosa. As a teacher Norbert worked for 2 years at the Múzsák Alapfokú Művészetoktatási Intézmény as a synthesizer coach, another 2 years at the Budai Művészképzőben (Kodolányi János Főiskola prep) where he taught classical and jazz theory, and band practice. For another 2 years he gave church pop music classes at the Evangelical-Lutheran Theological University.

Currently Norbert is the member and the musical producer of the Bársony Bálint Sextet, and the Recirquel company, works with Andrea Szulák and with numerous Hungrarian bands. Meanwhile he is an orchestrator (iMDb) and composer inside and outside Hungary (see @ compositions).
